Bridging Classroom Learning & Professional Practice
A mandatory FYUGP component that connects academic learning with real-world professional experience.
St. Xavier's College, Thumba considers internships an integral part of holistic higher education. In alignment with the University of Kerala Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP), every student is required to undergo an internship, apprenticeship, industry exposure programme, or laboratory training during the summer term. The internship component enables students to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional practice, equipping them with practical skills, workplace ethics, and industry exposure.
The college encourages students to undertake internships in reputed firms, industries, research laboratories, higher education institutions, and social development organizations. These experiences help students gain first-hand knowledge of real-world challenges while strengthening their employability, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. Internship opportunities are also supported through the Placement and Career Guidance Cell and industry collaborations.
