Research and development are central to the academic vision of St. Xavier's College, as we strive to train our students to be "excellent researchers and knowledge workers". The college maintains a dedicated Research Committee that fosters a culture of inquiry and innovation across all disciplines. This commitment is further exemplified by the introduction of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP), which offers a specialized "Honours with Research" degree for highly motivated students.

Students in the research pathway undertake mandatory projects under the guidance of university-approved supervisors, utilizing our modern laboratory facilities and the Arnos Padiri Library. Departments recognized as research centres provide an advanced environment for academic exploration, allowing eligible students to transition directly into doctoral programmes. By integrating research into the core of our curriculum, we prepare our graduates to contribute meaningfully to the global knowledge society.
